May the divine light of Diwali bring you and your May the divine light of Diwali bring you and your loved ones peace, good health, prosperity, and endless happiness. Wishing you a life as colorful and magical as the lights of Diwali. Happy Diwali!
How's that for my first reel ever, and for my big How's that for my first reel ever, and for my big lesson that I should always run a spell check before posting - my son just pointed out that I spelled exciting as exiting! πŸ˜…πŸ€£

I have been very, very busy this year, working on many new things for my business! And I am SO happy to finally be able to share, arguably one of the biggest projects, that has had me burning the midnight oil - my website refresh!

Let me tell you I'm a "get really really in the weeds" kinda person, and so naturally what should've taken a few weeks or months at most, took me around 2 years to complete! 🀣🫣

From taking courses that would help me create a website from scratch on Wordpress, to signing up for trial versions of all the website platforms out there, to ditching all those plans and finally coming back to where I already had my website (Wix), I've DONE. IT. ALL! If you're interested at all to hear what I've learned from the whole process, let me know - maybe I can save you some time, money, and sanity!

I hope that you have been happy and healthy, and as always, I want to thank all of you amazing folk who have stuck with me even through this LONG, unintended and unplanned hiatus from social media. Oh and also, I'd love to welcome all my new friends here - thanks for choosing to follow me on this fun, tiring, and ultimately fulfilling journey to build and shape my business. I'm hoping to share much more of what has kept me busy this past year, so keep your eyes peeled for more news coming soon! πŸ‘‹πŸ½
Day 3 of #MarchMeetTheMaker is about Planning. A Day 3 of #MarchMeetTheMaker is about Planning.

All my life I have always gravitated to paper planning for life and work. And by that I mean, I buy fancy planners, fill in a months worth of 'plans' in them, and then forget they even exist! πŸ˜‚ Over the last few years, I have found digital planning apps to replace these to do... well, the same thing - just make plans and forget all about it! πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€

This year however, I decided to try Asana to help me schedule out my plans of world domination (for Artsploring, of course 😁). I'm glad to report that I have been very pleasantly surprised to see how much of a positive difference it has made to my daily productivity, and helped to alleviate the constant feelings of overwhelm I used to feel. I still like to start with a paper planner for an overarching view, and then add tasks to Asana and refine my plans by breaking down bigger tasks into subtasks, and then scheduling those tasks to have actual due dates. I especially find the ability to reschedule tasks in Asana by just dragging and dropping them to different dates super helpful!

I can't wait to tell you about my actual plans for Artsploring, but I'll leave that for a future post... so stay tuned to find out more!

What do you prefer to use for your planning - paper or digital? And have you tried Asana? I'd love to hear any hacks or tips you might have for me!
Why, hello there! It's been a while, and I thought Why, hello there! It's been a while, and I thought taking part in March Meet the Maker this year would be the best way for us to get reacquainted (or just acquainted, if you're new here πŸ‘‹πŸ½)!

My name is Sneha Rao, and I am the self-taught illustrator and designer behind Artsploring LLC! I am an Indian (from Mangalore) who grew up in the Middle East (Bahrain and UAE), studied for a year in Canada (Peterborough), and has called USA (Georgia) home for the past 12ish years - I feel like a real world citizen! πŸ˜„ I live north-east of Atlanta with my husband and 2 boys who are 12 & 5, and our little fur-kiddo, Sita!

Drawing and painting has always been a huge part of my life, but it had taken a backseat since my high school days. Fast forward to about 6 years ago, right after I had my second son, I started dabbling in watercolor again. While he napped, I would get out all my watercolor supplies, get about halfway through a piece, and then have to rush and put it away as he stirred awake so that I didn't end up with a big ol' mess. In 2018, I decided to invest in an iPad Pro, since it would allow me not only to work from anywhere, but very importantly, also to work with the least amount of mess. As soon as I got it in my hands, I downloaded this app that it seemed everyone was talking about called Procreate, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I love to illustrate most things, but my favorite subjects are anything food and anything travel related. My artwork tends to be stylized and whimsical, and is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!

This year I am putting a lot of love, energy, and focus into growing my little business, and in the coming days and weeks, I hope to share with you some of my dreams and plans I have for it. I would be so thrilled and honored to have you join me on this little adventure! Thank you so much for being here!

I'd LOVE to get to know you, too! Tell me a fun fact or tid-bit about yourself! I'll go first - My favorite book is Harry Potter (I've read the series at least 16 times), and my favorite TV show is Schitt's Creek (I love ALL the characters, but can't understand what Mutt was there for πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€)! Now its your turn! πŸ™ŒπŸ½
Day 24 - And just like that we come to the last of Day 24 - And just like that we come to the last of the art that I created for the calendar. This final one was a beer brewery!
β€”β€”
A few year ago, I attended an office party that my husband’s company threw at SweetWater Brewing Company, a local brewery here in Atlanta, and we got a chance to take a tour of the actual brewery. I don’t drink so I might not have fully appreciated a lot of what they said, but I found it fascinating to see the whole process of brewing beer! I have always loved to see the behind the scenes of production - factory tours are the best!
β€”β€”
What was the last factory tour you took before the pandemic? I’d love to hear. Mine was the Bob’s Red Mill Factory Tour in Oregon!

Day 23 - Yet another one I did for the course assi Day 23 - Yet another one I did for the course assignment! This was originally an animal feed bag, but I thought it would be nice to convert it to be a potting soil bag since I’ve been dreaming of spring a lot lately!
β€”β€”
I don’t have a particularly green thumb, but I do try and grow at least a few edible plants at home every year, usually tomatoes, zucchini, basil, eggplant, and chilies. But my mom has the greenest thumb ever - she grows at least 20 types of plants, both edible and ornamental every year, and I wish so bad that green thumbs were genetically passed from one generation to the next! πŸ˜„
β€”β€”
Do you have favorite plants you like to grow every year? And are you, like me, desperately awaiting spring? 🀩

Day 22/100 - #11 of the 12 illustrations I did for Day 22/100 - #11 of the 12 illustrations I did for the calendar! I thought it would be fun to have a calculator shaped window unit for this imaginary accounting firm - the name the display and the numbers are the panes!
β€”β€”
I also like coming up with fun names for these shops, but that’s probably the part that is hardest for me! πŸ™ˆ

I have a real soft spot for edamame, or more accurately, mukimame! It’s just got the most deliciously nutty flavor, and I even love the soft buttery texture of the little steamed bean.
